Why do people living in Australia celebrate Christmas in the summer?

Simple really! It's because it is located in the southern hemisphere!
Their summer is the northern hemisphere(NH)winter time while NH winter will be their summer!
The position of the earth is made in such a way that there is a tilt in the axis of approximately 23 degrees. Due to this tilt the NH will experience a winter during December time while the south experiences a summer during December time. While Christmas is popularly shown as a snowy and winter kind of festival, this cannot be applied to Australia or even a matter of fact Brazil which has a huge Christian population.

Message:The species was named by Walter Rothschild in 1907, in honour of Alexandra of Denmark. The first European to discover the species was Albert Stewart Meek in 1906, a collector employed by Walter Rothschild to collect natural history specimens from Papua New Guinea. Although the first specimen was taken with Meek soon discovered the early stages and bred out most of the first specimens.

Though most authorities now classify this species in the genus Ornithoptera, it has formerly been placed in the genus Troides or the now defunct genus Aethoptera. In 2001 the lepidopterist Gilles Deslisle proposed placing it in its own subgenus he originally proposed the name Zeunera, but this is a junior homonym 1936 and his replacement is Straatmana.

The Florida Strawberry Festival is an annual event that takes place in Plant City, Florida. It was started in 1929 by the local Lions Club, after several attempts by locals in the previous 20 years to promote the local strawberry crop. The festival lasts 11 days, and generates an attendance of about half a million patrons from all over Central Florida and other global nations.

The festival is a venue for flea market-style craft and item sales, various free entertainment acts/events, a very large midway, plus twice-daily "big name" musical concert performances. Tickets are required for these concerts, but there is free stadium seating provided at most on a first come basis.
The festival is also known for its famous St. Clement Catholic Church's "Make Your Own" Strawberry Shortcake.
Every year a parade is held in the festivals honor and features Plant City's Person Of the Year award.
The festival has livestock activities in conjunction with the local 4-H club.
The festival also has a beauty pageant, with the coronation of a Strawberry Queen. The beauty pageant is well described in "The Strawberry Girls" by Anne Hull, which appeared in the New Yorker magazine, August 11 & 18, 2008.
